Our approach is both local and global. Locally, we engage with governments and communities to limit our environmental impact. Globally, we work to improve sustainability by integrating transformative technology and adhering to the highest industry standards and environmental certifications.

Social

It’s our strong belief that giving back creates more resilient and vital communities. So we offer a diverse set of programs that provide employees with opportunities to engage in and donate to worthwhile causes.

Industry recognition for our efforts

We’re dedicated to making measurable progress in our global sustainability initiatives and proud to be recognized for our achievements.

In 2022, we were awarded the Green Lease Leaders Gold recognition by the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) and the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Better Building Alliance. This recognition was given for using green leases to further promote ESG engagement, communication and collaboration with customers on key sustainability imperatives, including energy data collection, management and certifications.

In 2022, we were recognized as a member of the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Certification Nation for obtaining ENERGY STAR Certifications for six buildings in 2022. ENERGY STAR is the only energy efficiency certification in the US based on actual, verified energy performance, with strict requirements. Commercial buildings must be independently verified to operate more efficiently than 75% of comparable properties nationwide to be certified. Buildings that meet the criteria use an average of 35% less energy and are responsible for 35% less carbon dioxide emissions than typical buildings.

Honoring the legacy of GLP’s late co-founder, The JHS Foundation aims to build a more just and equitable society. To support this mission, the foundation is actively engaged in programs and initiatives that bolster education, protect the environment and emphasize equality. These efforts are helping improve lives across our global communities.
